Villa Sweet Home is ideally located in Colico, making it the perfect base for exploring the stunning attractions of Lake Como. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, you can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the year. In the warmer months, indulge in water sports such as sailing, kayaking and swimming in the crystal-clear lake.

Colico lies at the northern end of Lake Como, surrounded by the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve and the majestic mountain peak of Mount Legnone. As a result of Colico’s unique location it is an ideal destination for travellers who love nature and enjoy relaxation in a setting of historical beauty, while at the same time offering an abundance of sport, active life and fun.

Colico Forte di Fuentes
Located on the top of Montecchio Est looking over the Pian di Spagna area, the Fuentes Fort is one of the last remaining examples of the Spanish domain over this area. The Fort was built in 1603 to avoid any attempt of expansion from the Grigioni, who wanted to expand their domain over the Como Lake. In 1796 Napoleon’s army led by General Rambeau destroyed the Fort. Nevertheless, there are still some remains showing the presence of the Spanish in this territory.
Colico Piona Abbey
The Piona Abbey is located on the eastern side of Como Lake, at the tip of Olgiasca peninsula, in Colico municipality. This abbey is a clear example of the Romanic architecture, typical of the Lombardy region.

Lake Como is one of the most beautiful areas in Lombardy. This pre-alpine lake, surrounded by a crown of mountains with peaks up to 2500 m high, is not only spectacular but rich in history and tradition. The lake is perfect for active as well as relaxing holidays.

Visit Lake Como historical villas
The shores of the lake are still today characterized by series of small villages with bell towers in natural stone and beautiful villas surrounded by magnificent gardens with steps adorned with statues leading down to the lake. Walking on Viandante Trail
The Viandante Trail (Wayfarer’s Way) is a long distance trail that runs up the eastern leg of Lake Como from Abbadia Lariana to Colico. The Sentiero del Viandante is an old mule track from the Roman period. It follows the eastern coast of Lake Como, along the lower slopes of the mountains.
Cycling on Sentiero Valtellina
The Sentiero Valtellina is a wonderful cycle-pedestrian path that runs alongside the River Adda from Colico to Bormio, covering a total distance of 114 km. Mainly on the flat or slightly sloping, it is suited to all the family for discovering the beautiful sights in Valtellina. You can ride following the slow flow of the Adda river, coming across historic villages, castles, churches and buildings, choosing to take a tasty break and enjoy the most typical dishes from traditional Valtellina cuisine.
